Chief set for Sedgefield debut.Grade One winning hurdler Chief Dan George had a disappointing season in 2007 2008, but trainer Jimmy Moffatt puts this down to a probable virus which affected his stable during the last national hunt campaign. However, the Cartmel trainer is confident his horses are in tip top form at present, having had four stable winners in the last month, and he is expecting good things from Chief Dan George when he takes on ten rivals in his chasing debut in today's wbx.com Beginners Chase at Sedgefield. Hardy to face Hattons challenge.Dessie Hughes has confirmed Hardy Eustace will compete in this coming Sunday's Bar-One Racing Hattons Grace Hurdle at Fairyhouse. The trainer's old campaigner has nothing to prove, having already won over a million pounds in prize money, but with his recent victory over Sizing Europe and Jered in the Maplewood Hurdle, he has shown he is in fine form, and certainly has the ability to add the Hattons Grace Hurdle to this season's tally. Inglis Dreever set for four timer. It seems likely Inglis Dreever will attempt to win his fourthe successive Toteswinger Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury on Saturday. Trainer Howard Johnson has prepared him for his usual seasonal return in this first major long distance hurdle challenge, and if he still retains his ability, he will once again take all the beating. Peterborough Chase could re-establish credentials. Two chasers wishing to get their career's back on track are likely to clash in next month's Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon. Alan King is reporting My Way De Solzen has returned to training with relish, and he is confident his former top class hurdler can recapture some of his former sparkle in this year's Peterborough Chase. Meanwhile, Nicky Richards says Monet's Garden has put his disappointing performance in Aintree's Old Roan Chase behind him, and if the going at Huntingdon is no worse than soft, he expects Monet's Garden to show his true potential over the ideal two and a half mile trip of the Peterborough Chase. Japan farewell for Bull. The five year old Papal Bull has been a frustrating horse all through his racing career. In races like this year's King George and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot, he has shown his true ability, when almost catching five time Group One winner Duke of Marmalade on the line. But all too often, he has flattered to deceive. To be fair to his connections, they have never lost faith in his potential, hence they have decided to give him one last chance to prove himself at the highest level in this weekend's Japan Cup. Sir Michael Stoute reports Papal Bull is in fine condition, and connections are hopeful his experience of the track gained in last year's race, where he finished seventh, could help him to put in one more truely significant performance before his proposed retirement to stud.
