Brady adamant he wants another crack at Zaynar.

Trainer Oliver Brady has insisted in an interview today, Ebadiyan would have beaten both Zaynar and Walk On in the Cheltenham Triumph Hurdle had he not crashed out through the rails two flights from home.

Brady now intends to give his four year old a run on the flat prior to the Punchestown meeting at the end of April, and he is hoping Nicky Henderson will send Zaynar to face Ebadiyan at the Festival. If Zaynar's trainer by-passes Punchestown with his top rated four year old hurdler, Brady swears to keep seeking a confrontation sooner or later, as he is adamant Ebadiyan will defeat Zaynar next time they meet.

Beware a Bolger bluff.

Jim Bolger was only yesterday indicating uncertain plans for the preparation of Intense Focus for the Newmarket 2,000 Guineas, and now, with his usual unexpected announcement, it seems last year's Dewhurst Stakes winner is among seven entries for Sundays 2,000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown.

If Intense Focus does run on Sunday, and he comes out of the race as an impressive winner, no doubt Mister Bolger will keep the punters guessing as to which 2,000 Guineas he will enter!

Change occurs at the head of the Professional Jockeys Association.

Former amateur jump jockey and Betfair employee Josh Apiafi has resigned as Chief Executive of the Professional Jockeys Association. It is understood, Apiafi, who has been in the top job since 2007, is staying as a consultative director of the PJA, but he wants to give his main effort to a new commercial consultation business, so with immediate effect, he will be replaced as full time chief executive by former champion flat jockey Kevin Darley, who will move from his current role as industry liaison director.

In a further move, Ann Saunders, who has acted as the PJA's Company Secretary, has also been appointed as a director of the company.

Mount Grange operations in administration.

The well known owner Martin Myers, the co founder of Mount Grange Capital, the property investment and development company, is the latest figure to be hit by the current recession, as it is reported he has put his business interests, including Mount Grange Stud into administration.

Myers, who is now sixty six years of age, has had involvement with several trainers including; Jamie Osborne, Roger Charlton, Charlie Mann, and Jeremy Noseda, and his black and yellow colours have graced most of Britain's race tracks over the years.

The situation is doubly worrying for trainer Jamie Osborne, as he rents his training operation from a division of the Myers operations.

However, speaking yesterday, Osborne confirmed he had spoken to the administrator, and his yard was not in any immediate danger of closing.

Potential of new owners could hit Quinn and Costello.

It is not such a quiet rumour, several consortiums are interested in acquiring the ownership of recent Kim Muir Chase winner Character Building prior to this year's Aintree Grand National.

If current connections decide to sell, it could prevent trainer John Quinn and jockey Dougie Costello from having the potential winner of the world's greatest steeplechase.

Kelso give early warning over tickets.

Kelso racecourse are advising interested spectators to get in touch if they wish to book tickets for this Sunday's Ladies Day Meeting. With goody bags being handed out to the first one hundred and fifty ladies through the turnstiles, plus a super Best Dressed Lady Competition and other promotions, demand for tickets and hospitality has been high, and the racecourse are advising they now have a limited number of places left available, so anyway wishing to book tickets should make contact today.

Muhannak to wear blinkers on Saturday.

Ralph Beckett believes his Breeders Cup Marathon winner Muhannak is in need of blinkers for his run in this Saturday's Dubai World Cup.

"When we trailed in twelve lengths behind Asiatic Boy in the Maktoum Challenge, he lost concentration at a vital part of the race, so putting him back in blinkers for the first time since 2007 may just help him to concentrate on the horses he needs to follow. If we can keep him up with the pace, I know he will be doing his best work towards the end of the race".

Mad About You could be refitted with blinkers.

Mad About You may have been carrying a lot more weight than her rivals, and the mile trip in Sunday's Park Express Stakes at the Curragh may have been too short, but which ever way you look at it, she was disappointing when only finishing third behind Oh Goodness Me and stable mate Firey Red.

In an attempt to rekindle her undoubted ability, connections have decided to step her back up to ten furlongs for her next run, and perhaps more importantly, they are to refit her with blinkers for the first time since her win in October at Naas, in what turned out to be her last run of the 2008 flat season.

Cammidge warning from Sheridan.

Icelandic may have been doing his best work of the season when landing a Listed event at Doncaster's last meeting of the 2008 season, but Frank Sheridan has now warned punters not to assume he will begin this season in the same form. In fact, the trainer has been blunt enough to state, he believes Icelandic will need the run in this weeks Listed Cammidge Trophy at the Doncaster Lincoln meeting, so punters should take him at his word!

Henderson confirms Punchestown deployment.

In an interview with ATR, Nicky Henderson has confirmed Punchestowns will run in the 30 April World Series Hurdle at his namesake Festival, providing the ground conditions do not become too quick. The trainer also confirmed, prior to a limited flat racing campaign, Punjabi would defend his Punchestown Champion Hurdle title which he first won last year.

May target for Casual Conquest?

The Dermot Weld trained Casual Conquest has not been seen on a racecourse since his second to Frozen Fire in last year's Irish Derby. Placed in both the Irish and Epsom Derby's, Casual Conquest has seemingly developed into an impressive four year old, and it is understood he will be seen in public for the first time when he undertakes a racecourse gallop at Leopardstown following Sunday's race card.

Connections have indicated, if his training plan goes according to schedule, then Casual Conquest should first be seen in racing action in the Tattersalls Gold Cup in May.

Hurrican Fly gets speculative Group One entry.

In a suprise move connections of Hurrican Fly have entered the four year old in the Group One Tattersalls Gold Cup, due to be part of the Curragh's race card on 24 May.

Trainer Willie Mullins is currently doing his best to get his former Supreme Novices Hurdle anti post favourite fit from a splint injury in time for the Punchestown Festival, but if this effort should fail, connections would like to give Hurrican Fly an outing in a top class flat race in preparation for a possible tilt at next March's Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

Bookmakers disagree with blank Sundays.

It would appear, in horse racing, it is virtually impossible to get all parties to agree on anything. Just yesterday, the BHA issued a statement in which they indicated they intended to carry out their plan to have four blank Sundays in the racing calendar for 2010, and almost immediately, the bookmaking firms are asking the authority to have a rethink.

At Racingsight, we would like to suggest a compromise. Why not have the four blank Sundays in the UK calendar when there are major racing events in Ireland. This would certainly suit all but the on-course bookmakers, and would also be better for trainers, jockeys, and owners.
