Bell filly scores in Height of Fashion Stakes.
Moneycantbuymelove disposed of her maiden tag in some style when she powered through her rivals to land this afternoon's Listed Height of Fashion Stakes at Goodwood. Held up at the rearof the field by Jamie Spencer, she obviously relished today's underfoot conditions, quickening impressively to win by a length and a half from Fallen in Love, with Say No Now back in third place.
Totting-up ban for O'Neill.
Having admitted a charge of Careless Riding' aboard Hermione's Magic in the St Nicholas Hospice Care Fillies Handicap Stakes at Newmarket on 14 May 2009, Dane O'Neill this morning received a fifteen day ban from riding under the 'totting-up rules.
O'Neill had already been suspended from racing for twenty four days in the year leading up to 14 May, so the Newmarket stewards had no choice but to refer him to this morning's BHA Disciplinary Panel. The fifteen day ban from riding received this morning includes two days which have been suspended until 28 July 2009, so O'Neill will actually miss thirteen days, to include 29 May, and then 02 to 12 June inclusive.

South African sprinting star JJ The Jetplane is to have a preparation run for Royal Ascot's Golden Jubilee Stakes. Mike de Kock's charge will have a test run in Windsor's Listed Leisure Stakes on 01 June, and subject to no problems after this outing, he will line up in the Group 1 sprint on 20 June at Royal Ascot.
O'Brien enigmatic over yeats future.
In what can only be described as an enigmatic interview with At The Races this afternoon, Aidan O'Brien may have suggested Yeats might not make an attempt at a fourth win in the Ascot Gold Cup, then again, he may have suggested the eight year old was just taking his time to achieve full fitness. Eitherway, any one watching the interview will now have doubts as to whether Yeats will be in the starting stalls for this year's Ascot Gold Cup.
Hannon keen on Canford Cliffs.
Although he has come close on several occasions, it is twenty years since Richard Hannon trained the winner of the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.
However, the handler is reported to be bullish about the chances of his Newbury winner Canford Cliffs lifting the twenty year hoodoo, with Hannon reportedly saying,
"It will take a very good two year old to beat him".
Murtagh could switch to Again.
With the going at the Curragh still looking like being at least soft to heavy for the weekend Guineas cards, the Aidan O'Brien trained Heartshaped is an unlikely runner in Sunday's Irish 1,000 Guineas. If the filly is withdrawn, jockey Johnnie Murtagh is understood to have agreed to switch to David Wachman's Again, who is currently favourite for Sunday's Classic.
Clonmel go ahead this evening.
Although they will have heavy going for this evening's meeting, Clonmel were spared any further major rainfall overnight, and today's fixture goes ahead.
Friday fixture at Tipperary lost to waterlogging.
After an 8.30 am inspection, officials at Tipperary have had no option but to cancel tomorrow's fixture, as parts of the course were found to be waterlogged and totally unraceable.
Just three major absentees.
At today's forty eight hour decleration stage, most of the major prospects have remained in the field for the Boylesports Irish 2,000 Guineas. The three main absentees being; Aidan O'Brien's Westfalia, Godolphin's Ashram and Jim Bolger's Intense Focus.
If the going remains heavy at the Curragh, it is possible Mastercraftsman could challenge Delegator for favouritism, as the O'Brien trained three year old won a Pattern race on heavy going as a two year old, while trainer Brian Meehan has indicated he would have doubts about Delegator in very soft ground.
Egerton cautious over Art Deco return.
After winning the Chester Vase, and finishing fourth in the French Derby in 2006, Art Deco had some injury niggles, and was last seen finishing fifth in the 2007 Group 3 Gordon Richards Stakes. Since then, the six year old has been sidelined following a serious tendon injury.
Trainer Charles Egerton now reports his charge will be re-introduced to racing in the Festival Stakes at Goodwood on 25 May, but the handler has added a note of caution to the news,
"After such a serious leg injury, Art Deco will only run if the ground at Goodwood is not too firm, but he will definitely need the race. He is race-rusty, and will be suspect to progressive young horses until such time as he obtains full fitness".
Tartan Bearer withdrawal changes Lahaleeb jockey plans.
As we indicated yesterday, Mick Channon had secured Ryan Moore to ride Lahaleeb in Sunday's Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh, but this was assuming Moore was in Ireland to ride Tartan Bearer in the Tattersalls Gold Cup. With Tartan Bearer's withdrawal, Moore is to stay in Britain, where he will ride for Sir Michael Stoute at Newmarket.
As a result of this change, Channon has now booked Declan McDonogh to partner his Fred Darling winner in Sunday's Classic.
Conduit on course for Brigadier Gerard.
Providing ground conditions do not alter dramatically over the next few days, Sir Michael Stoute has indicated Conduit is likely to make his seasonal return in next week's Brigadier Gerard Stakes at Sandown Park.
Cecil quietly confident about Midday.
Lingfield Oaks Trial winner Midday is reported to be showing good form on the Newmarket gallops, and Henry Cecil is said to be very pleased with the filly's progression since the start of the season.
Over the years, Cecil has been a master at producing top quality Group 1 winning fillies, and the news he is reported to be 'quietly confident' about Midday suggests she is worth at least an each way flutter in the Investec Oaks.
De Kock hoping Bankable can compensate punters for last year.
Prior to last year's Royal Hunt Cup, the then Luca Cumani trained Bankable had run up a sequence of four straight victories, and he was made favourite for the Royal Ascot handicap, but an unfavourable draw saw him let his many supporters down.
Now trained by South African maestro Mike de Kock, Bankable finished a very creditable third in last Sunday's Singapore Airlines International Cup, and his new trainer has indicated he intends to bring Bankable back to Britain to try to obtain compensation for punters by completing a successful run in this year's Royal Hunt Cup.

Cheltenham winner Tricky Trickster, formerly with Nigel Twiston Davies, has been purchased at the DBS Spring Hit Sale by champion trainer Paul Nicholls for an established owner. In a serious bidding exchange, Nicholls just outbid Donald McCain, paying £320,000 for the promising young chaser.
In the other major lot at the sale, Howard Johnson purchased Grade 2 Aintree Bumper winner Sitting Tenant, presumably for owner Graham Wiley, for £160,000.

In Eire, Gaisce The President's Award is similar in format to the Duke of Edinburgh's Award in the United Kingdom, and both awards allow young people the opportunity to excel in various areas of community activity and personal development.
In a new joint venture Horse Racing Ireland and Gaisce The President's Award are to form a closer relationship. This will commence with a special race night at Leopardstown on 28 May, where the fourth race will be called Gaisce The President's Award Race, and in keeping with the age group to be targeted, it will be a contest for apprentice jockeys.
It is believed, the relationship will not only help the promotion and funding of Gaisce The President's Award, but it will also help to introduce young people to the excitement and fun of horse racing.
