Cheltenham to make course correction.As a result of Davy Russell's ingenuity in taking an unmarked short cut during Friday's running of the Glenfarclas Cross Country Race at Cheltenham, a major problem with the line of the inside course markers was exposed. The incident also caused raised eyebrows amongst the purists, and left racing open to the accusation of allowing gamesmanship to prevail. To prevent any further problems over the line of the cross country course, Cheltenham officials, in conjunction with the BHA course inspectorate, will attempt to provide sufficient course markers on the cross country course to ensure no further short cut incidents can be attempted in the future. Imperial Commander to by-pass Hennessy.Connections of Imperial Commander have today confirmed he will by-pass a run in the Hennessy Gold Cup in favour of a return to Cheltenham in December. Maraahel retires as Ask continues career.It has been announced, old campaigner, and multiple Pattern Race winner Maraahel is to be retired to stud. Meanwhile, the connections of Ask have indicated he will remain in training, with the 2009 Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe as his main target.
