Nominations Open Today.Nominations for the Stud and Stable Staff Awards, sponsored by Godolphin, opened today. Appropriate nomination forms have been circulated to all UK licensed trainers, stud managers, and around three hundred licensed race horse owners. The completed forms have to be returned by no later than 21 December 2008. Two ruled out for season.Smart chasers, Racing Demon and King John's Castle have both been ruled out of this winter's national hunt campaign due to injury, and they have been removed from all major betting markets for races in which they were expected to participate. Initial King George Declerations. At today's initial decleration stage for the Boxing Day King George Chase at Kempton Park, the three former Cheltenham Gold Cup winners; Kicking King, War of Attrition, and Kauto Star, have been declared to run. They are joined by former winners of the Grade One chase in a total field of thirty four runners. Exeter and Lingfield both get green light.Despite suffering two inches of rainfall over the last couple of days, a dry night enabled Exeter to pass a 7.30 a m inspection, and today's racing goes ahead. The Lingfield track also passed its 7.30 a m inspection, and today's national hunt card will also go ahead. Pipe bullish about Piraya chances.Although he has had a relatively slow start to the current national hunt campaign, David Pipe has indicated his french import Piraya has taken well to british fences, and he expects a good performance from the five year old in this Saturday's Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham. Inca return delayed.News coming out of the Colm Murphy stable indicates former Champion Hurdler Brave Inca is taking longer to come to hand than expected. As a result, his proposed run at Punchestown this Sunday has been cancelled, and plans now centre around the ten year old making his return in the Hattons Grace Hurdle at Fairyhouse on 30 November.
