No Scoop Six winner today.

There was just one ticket going on to Just For Men in the fifth leg of today's Scoop Six, but the selection pulled up in the Carlisle race, with the Alex Hales trained Antonius Caesar running out an easy winner of the three mile Handicap Chase.

The roll-over in next week's Win Fund now stands at £518,617, with the Bonus Fund on £222,264.

Something shows early form for new stable.

When trained by Terry Mills, Something had been a winner of Pattern races over six and seven furlongs, but last year he was very disappointing, and connections decided to move him to Dandy Nicholls for the start of the current season.

As often happens, a change of stable seems to have revitalised his enthusiasm for the game, and today Something held on tenaciously from the late finishing Benandonner to win the 3.45 pm Handicap at Kempton Park.

First time blinkers work for Badger.

Badger Law, who finished fifth in the Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter, was fitted with blinkers for the first time in today's Imperial Call feature chase on the Cork card, and the move seemed to work for Jessica Harrington's enigmatic charge, for today he ran with real conviction, and ran out an easy four lenths winner from Gripit m Tipit.

Pure Poetry for Hannon.

The only horse in today's Listed Kempton Easter Stakes with an entry for the 2,000 Guineas, the Richard Hannon trained Pure Poetry, was given an excellent ride by Richard Hughes, who used an inside rail run to thwart all weather performer Champagne in the final furlong.

After the race, Hughes made a point of commenting to Channel 4, "Pure Poetry still has an entry in next week's Craven Stakes". So it will be interesting to see if Richard Hannon decides to give his three year old a quick second outing in the Newmarket Group 3 contest.

Champagne's relatively close second in today's Listed race also paid a compliment to Mafaaz, as John Gosden's Kentucky Derby entry relegated Champagne to third place in this season's Kempton Kentucky Derby Trial.

Born to Boogie dominates Snowdrop.

The Henry Cecil trained Born to Boogie turned today's Listed Snowdrop Stakes into a virtual procession. Leading from virtually the start, she powered up the Kempton straight, and Perfect Star and Scuffle had no option but to settle for the minor honours. The four year old filly also set a fast time, and now looks set to compete for Group honours during the rest of the season.

Delegator likely to face Vocal challenge.

Jim Bolger's Vocalized has already started his season with a win in the Listed Loughbrown Stakes at the Curragh, and as the trainer's Intense Focus had the measure of several of next week's Craven runners in last year's Dewhurst Stakes, it could be argued Bolger has a line through the form of the other runners in next week's Group 3 race, and yet still fancies Vocalized's chances of pulling off a victory.

We know from reports earlier in the week Delegator appears to have made marked improvement over the winter, and Brian Meehan's colt was seen to be burning up the gallops in a training session, but unlike Vocalized, he has yet to turn that into action on the track during the current season.

Either way the Craven goes next week, it is likely the eventual winner will challenge Mastercraftsman for anti post favouritism in the 2,000 Guineas market.

Hayley Turner hoping for good news on Tuesday.

Hayley Turner is due to see her namesake Doctor Michael Turner on Tuesday for an examination which will decide if she can return to riding.

Hayley, who suffered concussion when trapped by her mount in a serious stalls training accident, is desperate to get back into action, but in an interview with Channel 4's Morning Line programme, stated she understood the seriousness of concussion injuries, and would go into Tuesday's examination in hope rather than expectation.

Delay on caste removal.

The veterinarian advisors to trainer Howard Johnson have advised the County Durham handler to delay the removal of the caste being currently worn by On Raglen Road. The novice suffered a heavy fall at the fourth last of the Sefton Novices Hurdle at Aintree, and his leg received a knock from Paws and Claws as he lay on the floor.

Speaking this morning, Johnson commented, "The caste was due for removal yesterday, but the vets think the injury needs more time, so we will leave it on until the latter part of next week".

Meade hopeful of a return to previous form for Donnas Palm.

Earlier in the current national hunt season Donnas Palm was a good second to both Hurrican Fly and Mikael D'Haguenet, but flopped on his last outing in February at Thurles. Trainer Noel Meade is still at a loss to explain that apparent loss of form, and he is hopeful Donnas Palm will show his previous form when he competes in the Grade 2 Rathberry and Glen View Studs Novice Hurdle at the Fairyhouse Festival.

O Gee could head to Haydock.

Having overturned some tall reputations when securing the Grade 1 Sefton Novices Hurdle at a price of twenty five to one, O Gee could finish his season with a run at Haydock in early May.

Trainer Renee Robeson has confirmed with connections an intention to get in another race before the end of the current national hunt season, but the only suitable options are Punchestown and Haydock, and the handler believes her charge could end up being thrown in at the deep end if competing at Punchestown, and therefore, Haydock may be the more viable option.

O'Connor continues to make slow progress.

Officials at Cork University Hospital have indicated jockey Matt O'Connor, who suffered serious head injuries when falling at Thurles last month, continues to make slow progress, but it is thought his rehabilitation could be a long process.

Zeb to have confidence booster at Fairyhouse.

Following his fourth from home fall in the Queen Mother Champion Chase, Colm Murphy intends to give Big Zeb a confidence booster over hurdles this coming Monday at Fairyhouse. The Grade 1 winning chaser is entered in the ladbrokes.com and the Kings Crisps Hurdle, and the trainer wants his charge to use a run in either of Monday's contests to build up his jumping confidence prior to a return to the larger obstacles in the Kerrygold Champion Chase at the Punchestown Festival.
