Wogan stays on to deny Killyglen in Grimthorpe.

Leading from a long way out, the relative novice Wogan had taken today's Grimthorpe Chase by the scruff of the neck, and despite the attentions of the Howard Johnson trained Killyglen all the way down the home straight, Wogan overcame some indifferent jumping at the third and second last , before using his undoubted stamina to see him home ahead of Killyglen on the run-in.

David Pipe has decided to pull Grand National specialist Comply or Die out of this afternoon's Grimthorpe Chase at Doncaster due to the fast drying ground.

Winner of the Aintree centrepiece in 2008, and runner up last year, Comply or Die was due to use today's race as his preparation for a third attempt at the Grand National, but after discovering the ground had been changed from good to soft to just good earlier this morning, Pipe consulted with connections, and the decision was made not to risk Comply or Die on a surface he would probably find too quick at this stage of his career.

Sedgefield to take Sunday morning look.
