Mon Mome to parade at Hereford fixture.Trainer Venetia Williams has agreed to allow Grand National winner Mon Mome to parade at his local track on Wednesday afternoon. In a major coup for Hereford racecourse, Saturday's shock winner of the world's greatest steeplechase will be on show to race-goers between 3.45 pm and 4.00 pm at Hereford's fixture this coming Wednesday 08 April. Murphy planning late season raids. While many national hunt trainers are considering putting their top horses away for a late spring and summer break, Ferdy Murphy is planning to capture some of the major prizes still on offer over the next four weeks. Having secured victory in Friday's Maghull Novices Chase, Kalahari King is reported to be in fine form, and Ferdy Murphy is likely to give him the opportunity to add the Sandown Celebration Chase to his CV before the eight year old gets his summer break. The trainer is also sending Kim Muir Seventh placed Poker de Sivola to Fairyhouse for next Monday's Irish Grand National. While Nine de Sivola and Hot Weld, who finished first and second in the 2007 running of the Scottish Grand National, are on a return mission to Ayr on Saturday 18 April. Punchestown to change format of upcoming Festival.Having held discussions with various bodies inside and outside horseracing, officials at Punchestown racecourse have decided to change the daily running times of this year's Festival. In these hard economic times, officials have discovered many people would prefer to undertake a full half day of work before visiting the races, and to accommodate these wishes, on Tuesday 28, Wednesday 29, and Thursday 30 April, the Festival race cards will start at 3.45 p m, with the final race being at 7.15 p m. On Friday 01 May, the card will run from 3.45 p m with the last race at 7.45 pm, but on Saturday 02 May, racing will revert to a more usual 2.45 p m start. These changes will also mean the RTE television coverage of the week day meetings will occur during peak viewing times, and this could well increase viewing figures for the television network. Solwit gets Punchestown entry.Having just edged Fivefourthree out of the major prize in Saturday's Grade 1 Aintree Hurdle, trainer Charles Byrnes has confirmed Solwit has been given an entry in the Rabobank Champion Hurdle at Punchestown on 01 May. However, the handler has issued a note of caution, indicating Solwit will only run if he maintains his current one hundred per cent fitness in the three weeks leading up to the race. I Want Revenge heads to top of Kentucky market.Having dwelt at the start of The Group 1 Wood Memorial at Aqueduct race track in New York, I Want Revenge immediately had to make up four lengths on his rivals, but in a scintallating display, he not only made up his loss at the start, he then weaved his way through his rivals, and then galloped away in the stretch to win by a length and a half from his nearest pursuer. The performance was so good, in many quarters, the three year old is now favourite for the Kentucky Derby. Bolger horses in fantastic form. With another treble logged up at yesterday's Curragh meeting, trainer Jim Bolger has now had eight winners from a handful of runners at only three meetings in the early part of the Irish flat racing season. Taking this form into consideration, any Bolger runners sent over for next week's Craven meeting must go straight on to a short list of potential winners. Vision D'Etat disappoints at Longchamp.Vision D'Etat, who won last year's French Derby before going on to finish fifth in the 2008 Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe, was too keen in yesterday's Prix D'Harcourt at Longchamp, and his antics which saw him pulling throughout the race left him with no energy in the final stages, and he could only finish third behind Trincot, and the former Aidan O'Brien trained The Bogberry, the latter now with Alain de Royer-Dupre. Vision D'Etat may well improve as the season goes on, but it would certainly seem using cheek pieces on Trincot for the first time in yesterday's race made a marked improvement to his form, and he could also go on to better things this season. Al Eile will return in 2010.Despite only finishing fourth in Saturday's Aintree Hurdle, Al Eile delighted trainer John Queally. "Coming back from such a serious injury, and only having one preparation run on the all weather at Dundalk, I think my fella did exceptionally well in this year's race". Queally has informed the press, Al Eile will be rested for the rest of this season, but will then be trained specifically for another attempt at winning the 2010 Aintree Hurdle. Weld very happy with Casual Conquest.Dermot Weld believes Casual Conquest, who finished third behind New Approach in the Epsom Derby and second behind Frozen Fire in the Irish Derby, has made up into a very fine four year old. In fact, the handler is said to be very confident his charge will put in a good display in his first run of the season, which will probably come in the Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket. Meanwhile, another of the stable's four year olds, Famous Name, who finished second in the French Derby, is due to line up in the Moors Bridge Stakes at the Curragh on 04 May, and if all goes welll in his first race, he will move on to selected Group 1 contests over ten furlongs or above. All Grand National finishers reported well. The various connections of the seventeen finishers in Saturday's Grand National have reported their horses to be fine and healthy. David Pipe, who was delighted with Comply or Die's second place, has indicated, subject to no harsh treatment by the handicapper, last year's winner will return for the 2010 race. My Will's trainer Paul Nicholls, and Willie Mullins, who had two finishers in Snowy Morning and Irish Invader, have also indicated their various charges will be in action in next year's race. However, at Racingsight we believe the horse to be supported for next year's race is Big Fella Thanks, for the virtual novice put in an excellent round to finish sixth, and with this experience behind him, he should be a major player in next year's Aintree centrepiece. No Changes planned in Aintree format. There was plenty of talk last week about extending the Aintree Festival meeting to a four day affair, with the National being run on a Sunday, but with seventy thousand spectators turning up at Aintree on Saturday, course officials have indicated they have no intentions of changing a winning format.
