After being warned off for four years following a recent corruption enquiry, Dean McKeown was already due to lose his riding license at the end of the current flat season, but following an investigation into his riding of Rascal at Southwell on 04 October, the Soutwell stewards suspended him under the non-trier's rule, and now the BHA have withdrawn his license with immediate effect. In addition, an investigation into the betting patterns surrounding the Southwell race is now being undertaken by the integrity section of the BHA.

Can Ashleybrook maintain his form?

Ashleybrook proved in yesterday's Haldon Gold Cup he has the talent to be a top class chaser, but injuries and lack of consistency have dogged the ten year old over the last four years.

However, if he can remain injury free, and is raced sensibly, he has the genuine ability to become the 'real dark horse' in this season's Grade One chases over the minimum trip.

Major injury concerns over Scottish Grand National Winner.

Iris de Balme, the suprise winner of this year's Scottish Grand National, has suffered major tendon damage during training, and will be out of action for at least a year.

War at Thurles.

War of Attrition has been given the go ahead to compete in tomorrow's Thurles Chase. Following his successful return from a long injury break at Punchestown, the former Cheltenham Gold Cup winner had been declared for last Saturday's Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby, but connections considered the going to be too firm, and tomorrow's engagement at Thurles became the preferred option.

Irish trainers still criticising Flemington going.

Aidan O'Brien and Dermot Weld are still criticising the firm going at Flemington for yesterday's Melbourne Cup. They believe it is dangerous for top class thoroughbreds to

race on such ground, and they have indicated if the Australian authorities do not take their concerns seriously, they may have to reconsider taking horses to Australia for the blue ribbon race.

Hardy heads to Navan.

It seems likely Hardy Eustace will make his seasonal reappearance in the Grade Two Lismullen Hurdle at Navan this coming Sunday. If he comes through the run in good shape, he could have a quick return to action in the Coral Ascot Hurdle on 22 November - the latter being a race he has won before.

Renwick appeal to be heard tomorrow.

Stacy Renwick, who was suspended by the Doncaster stewards on 24 October for failing to ride out a full race on Red Wine, will have her appeal against the decision and ten day suspension heard by the BHA Disciplinary Panel at its meeting tomorrow morning.
