Ebaziyan returns to form just in time. The 2007 Supreme Novice Hurdle winner Ebaziyan has been a shadow of his former self during the last fifteen months of his hurdling career, so it was interesting to see him bounce back to form in this afternoon's Ballsbridge Hurdle at Leopardstown. Okay, he only had three rivals to beat, but he did win by eight lengths, and if he can progress on today's run he could still be an interesting outsider in this year's Champion Hurdle. Another Scoop Six record next week.As yet another weekend passes without a single Scoop Six winner, next week's combined total will almost certainly set a new record. The roll over on the Win Fund will be five hundred and fifty five thousand five hundred and forty nine pounds, while the virtually non-ending roll over on the Bonus Fund has now reached a huge two million nine hundred and ninety three thousand nine hundred and seventy seven pounds. Based on Totesport estimates, the combined total next week will almost certainly pass the record four million pound mark - a very useful present for someone to win in the weekend before the Cheltenham Festival. Tidal Bay comes through workout.Howard Johnson was reported to be more hopeful Tidal Bay would make it to Cheltenham after he came through a post meeting gallop at Doncaster yesterday. Last year's Arkle Trophy winner had been suffering from a leg injury which threatened his participation at this year's Festival, but the signs are more hopeful he will now line up in one of his targeted races, with the Ryanair Chase his most likely option at this stage. Queally delighted with Al Eile.John Queally has reported Al Eile has had no ill effects from his run and win at Dundalk on Friday evening, and the trainer is now very hopeful his nine year old will line up at Liverpool in an attempt to equal Morley Street's record of four Aintree Hurdle victories. Carberry reported to be shaken and sore.Following his fall from Charlie Yardbird at the third last obstacle in yesterday's Athboy Hurdle, jockey Paul Carberry gave up the remainder of his rides at Navan, but today, although he is reported to be shaken and sore, he appears to be suffering from no lasting infirmities, and should be fine by the time the Cheltenham Festival comes around.
