Revised running order of transferred York races.

Due to some fine co-operation between the British Horseracing Authority and three of the UK's top racecourses, the major races of they York Ebor Festival have been saved. The final running order for the rearranged races is as follows:

The Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Gimcrack Stakes Group 2, and the Newborough Stakes Heritage Handicap Class 2, which this year replaces the Ebor, will take place at Newbury on Friday 22 August.

The Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes Group 1, the Darley Yorkshire Oaks Group 1, and the DBS 300,000 St Leger Yearling Stakes Class 2, will take place at Newmarket on Friday 22 August.

Meanwhile, the Juddmonte International Stakes Group One, will become the centrepiece of Newmarket's expanded nine race card on Saturday 23 August. Thanks to the late intervention of the Thoroughbred Breeders Association and the Horse Race Betting Levy Board, The Group Two Lowther Stakes has also been saved, and the race, with a revised prize fund of sixty thousand pounds, will form the second race on the new card, which will now commence at 12.50 p m.

Finally, the Ladbrokes Great Voltigeur Stakes Group 2, will be transferred to Goodwood on Saturday 23 August.

All horses declared for the above races at the six day decleration stage will be able to declare up to 24 hours in advance of the rearranged race times. In addition, to allow for jockey bookings to be finalised, jockeys can register their rides up to 24 hours in advance of race times.

Punters should note, as the Newborough Stakes is over a slightly different distance to the Ebor, the weights of the competing horses may be slightly altered.

Some expected runners in revised races.

Based on our latest information, Kings Gate Native is a definite runner in tomorrow's Nunthorpe Stakes, while Duke of Marmalade and New Approach are currently still expected to run in Saturday's revised Juddmonte International Stakes.

Ladbrokes do not expect problems.

Although Ladbrokes are facing a potential walk out by staff at their Liverpool telephone betting centre this Saturday, they are confident they have enough capacity in their system to provide a normal service to their telephone customers.

Fingers crossed for last ever Tralee Festival.

Having lost the first two days of their last ever racing festival to flooding, Tralee officials are planning a revised four day meeting to commence this Saturday 23 August.

As the meeting represents the last ever racing at the current Tralee racecourse, it is to be hoped the weather will relent sufficiently to allow some racing to take place.

Ravens Pass hoping for Celebrartion Victory.

John Gosden's Ravens Pass has had to play second fiddle to very good horses in Group One company this year, but connections are hopeful he can come home in front of all his rivals in this Saturday's Group Two Celebration Mile at Goodwood.
