Aidan reapplies for jumps license. We are all aware, Aidan O'Brien is a brilliant trainer, and his record in Group One flat races this season speaks for itself! So, with the unexpected news today, Aidan has decided to reapply for his national hunt license, comment in the racing industry has been intense. Our favourite remark came from William Hill spokesperson, Kate Miller, who reckoned, certain trainers in the West Country are probably looking for the vallium! At Racingsight, we believe this news will spark even more interest in this season's national hunt campaign, and will bring more spectators into racing - which has to be a good thing! No breach of rules involved in Zamboozle run. After an extensive enquiry yesterday afternoon, Evan and Christian Williams have been cleared of any breach of the rules in the running and riding of Zamboozle at Worcester on 02 July. A full report on the hearing will be published as soon as it becomes available. Use of the Whip Ban for Dehdashti. In another BHA Disciplinary Panel ruling from yesterday, conditional jockey, Eamon Dehdashti received a twelve day ban for his misuse of the whip when winning the Red Mills Conditional Jockeys Handicap on 04 August at Newton Abbot. The case had been referred to the BHA Panel by the Newton Abbot stewards, and after viewing a tape of the race, and hearing from Dehdashti, the Panel deduced the winning horse, Deltic Arrow, had been struck with the whip up to thirty times in the final circuit of the race. Because of his inexperience, Dehdashti had also hit the horse in the wrong areas, and had caused his mount to receive some minor wealing. The Panel banned Dehdashti from riding for twelve days, commencing on 21 August, and applying to days when jump racing takes place. |
