Duke tops Timeform turf ratings.With the publication today of the latest worldwide ratings, Curlin narrowly remains the top rated horse on 134, but rated at 133, Aidan O'Brien's Duke of Marmalade is now officially recognised as the top turf horse in the world. Ascot runner up to the 'Duke', Sir Michael Stoute's Papal Bull, is now third equal in the world rankings with American three year old Big Brown. Fifth equal are Henry the Navigator and New Approach. Official launch of Racing Together.The British Horseracing Authority's objective to promote racing in the community, which includes many existing and proposed schemes, is to be umbrellered under the new title of 'Racing Together'. The newly titled scheme has been pulled together by the Authority's Welfare and Training Group, and includes the community activities of the leading organisations in horse racing. To ensure the future success of promoting horse racing amongst the populace as a whole, over the next few months, the BHA will carry out its first audit of the sport's community impact, and will make a full report and recommendations during 2009. |
