Another Betfair maximum payout.
Walter Swinburn's filly Rotative looked a forlorn hope when she turned into the home straight seventh of eight in this afternoon's one mile two furlong Maiden at Kempton Park. She was then matched for sixty pounds at the Betfair exchange's maximum price of 999 to 1. Needless to say, she forged past her rivals in the straight and netted some exchange punters a handsome profit.
This is the third time in four days the betting exchange's top price has been matched successfully. The spree started with Bermondsey Bob on Friday, and continued with Ho Ho Ho on Saturday. It seems like wet weather, long odds victories are inevitable this summer!
Father and son appeal.
Jockey Michael Hills, and his trainer father, Barry Hills, are both appealing to the BHA over the disqualification of their Hamalka at Chester last Friday.
Having passed the winning post in first place, Michael Hills was adjudged by the Chester stewards of Careless Riding, and apart from receiving a two day ban, his mount Hamalka was judged to have interfered with second placed odds on favourite Time Control, and the placings were altered.
The appeal by both parties will be heard in front of the BHA Disciplinary Panel this coming Thursday.

Major Petch remembered at Catterick.
Apart from the William Hill Handicap Stakes over six furlongs, this Friday's meeting at Catterick will feature the mile and a half race named in memory of Major Leslie Petch O B E.
Post second world war, Major Petch was well known in Yorkshire racing circles, and was closely associated with the running of Catterick from 1948 right up to his death in 1983. He represents the type of individual who keep British racing at the forefront of world racing, and it is right we remember such individuals while we enjoy ourselves at the racecourses they helped to construct.
